Description
Medal group including a numbered Purple Heart (261020), named late 1940s Army Commendation medal, original award document for the Purple Heart, and unnamed Bronze Star to Colonel Ralph M. Neal, USMA Class of 1923. He served as the G-2 of the 101st Airborne Division from 1942-1944, and served in five European Campaigns including Normandy D-Day, where he was wounded in action. He later served with the 12th Army Group in plans and training, and then with SHAEF. Post war he served with then MAAG in Belgium. Good condition, though the document is fragile.
