WWII Army Bronze Star Medal (BSM) Engraved and Named Slot Brooch to Japanese American Kosuke Arakaki of Hawaii; an infantryman. Arakaki was attached to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 100th Battalion, Company D. The 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a segregated Japanese American unit, is remembered today for its brave actions in World War II. Despite the odds, the 442nds actions distinguished them as the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in the history of the US military. The Bronze Star medal has immediate post war script engraving. Nice condition for its age.
