[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY] -- [SPORTS]. A group of 6 items, incl. photographs.8 x 10 in. photograph of football or rugby team. 13 men, 5 wear a fishy-looking tokens around their necks. On the ball in the lap of the center gentleman "Reserves '03."5 1/2 x 7 1/2 in. photograph a number of couples, men in front, women behind, in a park-like setting. The men have what appear to be cricket bats. They are not exactly dressed to play a game, however, as most are in three-piece suits, complete with pocket watches on chains.2 photographs, each 4 x 5 in., one of fans crowded along the rails at what appears to be Churchill Downs. The second shows horses starting to run with "Start of Ky Derby" in the negative.Real photo postcard of baseball player. 8 x 10 in. copy photograph. (rear cover missing) "Foot-Ball Rules and Referee's Book...Authorized and Adopted by the American Intercollegiate Association." Many different rules, such as play for two halves at ¾ hour each. Passing was not part of the game, which consisted of "scrimmages" (closer to rugby). Front wrap with surface soil. The official ball in the ads, however, is marked as a rugby ball.2 3/4 x 5 in. score card for baseball with players on front.
