18th century, the subject known in the west as "Our Lady of Perpetual Help: the Mother of God" shown with the Child on her left arm and the archangels Michael and Gabriel over her shoulders, each bearing the instruments of crucifixion, flanked by reserves on either side showing the first Russian saints Boris and Gleb, and above with a reserve showing the Deesis with Christ enthroned, archangels Michael and Gabriel, Mary, John the Baptist, Peter, and Paul as Intercessor, all on an ornate scrollwork ground in red and gilt, with a letter describing the icon by Chrysostomus Pijnenburg of Vienna

very good, with minor losses on edges, a few minor spots of retouching, mostly along the lower edge of the central reserve (appx. 1/4 inch wide)
