Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A fabulous glass cup, free blown from semi-translucent green glass, with a tapered cylindrical form that is lightly pinched at four corners creating a more geometric silhouette. Its thin, slightly flared walls rest upon a tightly compressed base with a flat discoidal bottom. Stunning areas of rainbow-hued iridescence are accented by swatches of silvery iridescence scattered throughout. A well-preserved example! Size: 2.75" W x 4.25" H (7 cm x 10.8 cm)
