Pook & Pook, Inc., 10/1/2010, lot 354.
Ex-collection of Charming Forge, Womelsdorf, PA.
Catalogue Note: Daniel Oyster (1767-1845) was a prolific clockmaker whose career spanned several decades. In 1792, Oyster married Catharina Rose, the sister of important Berks Co., Pennsylvania clockmaker, Daniel Rose, a hugely influential figure in Oyster's career. The present clock, its case in a classic Chippendale style, likely dates from this early period when Oyster was working in Reading.
