Description
Pennsylvania Federal Walnut Tall Case Clock, Benjamin Whitman, Reading, Pennsylvania, Circa 1810-25. The bonnet with swan's neck pediment ending in fan roundels, above an arched glazed door flanked by freestanding columns, opening to the lunar dial painted with landscape scenes, the white dial plate with two world maps flanked by gilt male and female harvesters, the dial signed "Benjn. Witman/ Read ing," the case with arched door above a panelled plinth and bracket base. H: 92.25 in., W: 21.5 in., D: 10.25 in.
