Description
Likely Jeremiah Fellows, Jr. or his son (American, Kensington, New Hampshire 1749-1837), late 18th to early 19th century, Federal mahogany and mahogany veneered inlaid tall case clock, having a pierced crest to the curved hood with fluted plinths surmounted by spherical brass finials centering on an eagle finial, shaped cornice supported by ringed columns flanking a glazed tombstone door, the painted iron dial with nautical scene having a light house and ships with the Grand Union flags, floral spandrels, seconds hand, date calendar aperture, and Roman numerals, the trunk with bird's eye maple banding and arched door, base section with string inlay, and rising on French bracket feet, marked to face "Jere' Fellows" "Kinsington". Note: The Grand Union naval flag was in use from 1775 until 1777. Provenance: From the Blakely Estate, Buford, Georgia. Approx. h. 92.5", w. 19.25", d. 9".

Craquelure to face, crack to glass and base section, untested - would recommend a professional servicing; clock key, weights, and pendulum are present.
