A PAIR OF SÈVRES STYLE GILT AND "JEWELED" BLEU DE ROI PORCELAIN VASES, LATE 19TH CENTURY, each with a flat topped rim on a rounded mouth and short neck centering an intricately gilt and enamel jeweled stylized bloom, flanked by scrolling angular handles ending on a rounded shoulder with a band of delicately detailed gilt fleur-de-lys and berry strands, above a fruiting leafy vine wreath over an ovoid body with sides centering a continuous finely painted scene of frolicking and laboring children wearing peasant attire, set amidst forested pastoral landscapes before distant waterside castles, within raised gilt zigzag borders and above a base with ovule molding centering leaf alternating rod gilt decoration, raised on a circular socle and conforming foot on a square form plinth with minutely detailed corner gilt floral spandrels, verso spurious overglaze blue intertwined L's enclosing "BB." Good condition for porcelains of this age and use including but not limited to expected surface buildup throughout, lacking some enamel "jeweling", mouth rims on both are professionally restored, normal areas of worn gilding, some regilt areas, some faint small surface scratches, and probably lacking lids.
