A PAIR OF GILT METAL MOUNTED SÈVRES STYLE PORCELAIN VASE LAMPS, MID 20TH CENTURY, in the baroque taste, the turquoise ground porcelain vase with parcel gilt reserves, centering medallions, of bucolic scenes with figures of children, one of a wheat harvest and the other a theme of love, opposed by reserves centering flowering bouquets, each transfer printed with hand embellishments, topped by a twisted spray of leaves, within scrolling tendril arms held by putti, and raised on a grotto inspired footed base with profuse lily, twig and fruiting leaves, flanked by seated nymphs with books, with fluted shades and harps with matching finials. Some gilt rubbing, patina and dust throughout, mild losses of paint, possibly originally gas lamps now wired for electricity, some loosening of mounts, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
