Louis Berrien was a noted golf professional, teacher and clubmaker during the 1910s and 1920s. He was tied to several California and Utah golf clubs during that era, including Salt Lake City C.C., Del Monte C.C. and Brentwood C.C. However, he is most notably affiliated with Wilshire C.C. in the Los Angeles area. Among Berrien's most successful students was talented amateur George Von Elm, who won the 1926 U.S. Amateur in a famous duel with Bobby Jones.
