Description: Cutting Edge: 28..06" Overall Length: 36' Tang Shape: Kiri Blade Description: Shinogi-zukuri Hamon: Togari Gonome' with Ashi, Tobi-yaki-Midari Utsuri Boshi: Midare Hada: Itami School: unknown Signature: Kanemitsu Other Notes: Blade has no fatale flaws, bends or chips Tsuba: hand forged, Shoami school with gold overlay depicting two finches in bamboo grove next to a small hut combines with small pine trees and flowers opposite side depicts gold overlay of pine trees, small hut and boats Habaki: shakudo foil over copper Fuchi and Kashira: shakudo depicting gold inlayed grapevine and fruit, also incorporating a family Ka-mon on the fuchi. Handle: Wrapped in good quality Sane`, wrapped with silk Ito, Menuki made of gilded Shakudo depicting a type of vegetable. Scabbard (Saya): black lacquer Kurigata of carved wood. Saya complete with Sunokairi. Sword come complete with original, two sword, storage bag. The bag is antique and is in "as is" condition.

History: Sword was made during the Nambokucho period 1334-94. As well the sword is O-suriagi Tachi with two mekugi ana and signed with two kanji signature of Kanemitsu. Tang is kiri cut.
