Description
Rare japanese samurai Tachi katana from the Sengoku period, attributed to Heianjo Nagamitsu, so unsigned and no papers. The saya is impressive, giving the impression of a very long sword. The koshirae is wonderful and in excellent condition, the menuki represents a kabuto, a bow and a battle fan. A rarely seen leather period hanger, usually to be hang on a horse, comes with the sword. Blade is mumei, in fair condition and 25 inches long. A very old nihonto (sword) in very good condition, and an excellent addition for the serious collector. 10" hilt 26" blade length, 1" wide, 0.25" thick
