Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Post-Classic period, ca. 1000 to 1400 CE. A lovely handmade pottery jug enveloped in a vibrant hue of burnt sienna. Supported by a concave, discoid foot, the ancient vessel displays a globular body that narrows to a cylindrical neck with a dramatically raised band at its mid-section and an annular rim. Three conical embellishments reminiscent of shamanic horns curve upwards to tapered points along the edge of the jar's sloped shoulder, all equidistantly spaced along a horizontal axis. Size: 8.125" in diameter x 8.5" H (20.6 cm x 21.6 cm)

Condition
One horn has been reattached and has a tiny nick on its tip. Light nick to rim. Possible repair to neck and rim. Expected light abrasions and scratches throughout as shown. Otherwise, very nice with impressive remaining pigments and light earthen deposits throughout.
