Orville Wright Signed Check, PSA/DNA Slabbed Mint 9!
PSA/DNA slabbed check No. 3078 inscribed overall and signed by famous American aviator, Orville Wright (1871-1948) as “Orville Wright". Issued from the City National Bank and Trust Company, Dayton, Ohio on May 29, 1929 in the amount of $6.94 payable to “Division of Water, Village of Oakwood”. The check is on ecru paper over which an image of the bank is superimposed, bears several stamped and perforated cancellation marks, and was signed by the payee verso. Graded by PSA/DNA as MINT 9. Check measures 8.75" x 3.25" and is enclosed in a PSA/DNA certified slab measuring 12.5” x 5.5".
Orville Wright and his elder brother, Wilbur Wright, were the inventors of the world's first successful airplane. The brothers successfully conducted the first free, controlled flight of a power-driven airplane on December 17, 1903. They subsequently became successful businessmen, filling contracts for airplanes in both Europe and the United States. Today, the Wright brothers are considered the "fathers of modern aviation." Orville is also known for developing technology for the U.S. Army.
