Jack London Signed Check, PSA/DNA Slabbed & Graded Mint 9
A check fully engrossed by novelist Jack London (1876-1916), and signed by him as "Jack London" on the payee line. The unnumbered check is date-stamped December 19, 1904 and issued from Central Bank of Oakland, California. The check was made out to "W. Irwin" in the amount of $13.75. PSA/DNA graded Mint 9. Bearing the usual clerical perforations and stamps. Endorsed verso. The slab measures 9.5" x 4.5."
Although his writing career was curtailed by his premature death, London still produced many popular and commercially successful novels, short stories, poetry, plays, essays, and travel accounts. He established his literary reputation in the new Western adventure genre with “Call of the Wild” (1903) and “White Fang” (1906), novels inspired by some of his real-life experiences in the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush.
