Antoine Auguste Villard (born April 17, 1867 in Paris; died February 4, 1934) is a French painter, naturalist and impressionist.
After a first career as an industrialist (like his father, a banker in Mcon), it was not until around 1907 that he devoted himself fully to painting. He studied architecture at the ’_cole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, the ’_cole nationale sup’©rieure des arts d’©coratifs and the ’_cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, under the supervision of Jules Lefebvre and Benjamin-Constant.
He exhibited at the Salon des Ind’©pendants*, the Salon d'Automne* and the Salon des Tuileries*, then in 1928 he chaired the first edition of the Salon de l'Art Fran’_ais Ind’©pendant created by Victor Dupont.
