Description
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, Islamic, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A dainty glass bottle with a piriform body and a lovely turquoise hue. The rounded shoulders narrow to a long neck with an encircling rib in the center. This bottle had an applied foot at one time to stabilize it and was perhaps filled with scented oils or perfumes for sprinkling. Size: 1" W x 3.1" H (2.5 cm x 7.9 cm)
Provenance: ex- estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA acquired before 2000

Condition
Stable fissure to midsection with radiating hairline fissures from body to neck. The base is missing applied foot and cannot support the bottle on its own. Heavy earthen encrustations and mineral deposits.
