Harry Truman Handwritten Free Frank Postally UsedÂ
While printed Truman Free Franks exist in the thousands, there are very few handwritten ones that exist, and only a few of those that were postally used. 6.25" x 4.25." The reason Truman could not use his normal printed envelopes in this case was that the size of the enclosure necessitated a different, smaller envelope. Enclosed is a holiday greeting for 1963 to David Edelstein. Edelstein was a Truman appointed Jewish judge in the United States District Court in Manhattan who served for 48 years. Judge Edelstein presided over two of the justice department's historic undertakings - the anti-trust action against IBM, and the ongoing effort to rid the Teamsters Union of corruption.
