James Garfield ALS and Cabinet Card, Audubon Interest
Lovely autograph letter signed on letterhead of "House of Representatives", 4.75" x 8". Dated "Jany 28, 1879", and signed by James Garfield "J.A. Garfield". Accompanied by the original autographed mailing envelope, and a Cabinet Card. 4.25" x 6.5". Cabinet card is lightly toned, the fine condition letter is clean and bright.
The letter is shown in part below and depicts Garfield's love of books and nature, traits he passed to his son, James Rudolph. A lovely set.
"... Your letter of Jany 27th desiring a copy of ..."Birds of The Colorado" was duly received and immediately referred to the proper official with the request that the book be forwarded to you..."
