Description
Late 19th - early 20th c. cabinet photo of what was then the Miller Manual Labor School, founded in 1878 by bequest of Samuel Miller to be a boarding school for orphaned children, now known as the Miller School. Despite the name, the early curriculum included the classics as well as trades and agriculture. "Old Main", seen on the right side of the photograph, is listed in the Virginia Historic Landmarks Registry. Approx. 9 1/2" x 7 1/2".
