Rufus Hoslinger (Charlottesville, Va, 1866–1930) cabinet photograph circa 1901-1915 showing five members of the Borchers family on horseback, the landscape probably the grounds of the Ednam Hall estate, (now the Ednam neighborhood, Albemarle County, just outside of Charlottesville,) home of the Borchers family until 1924. Rufus Hoslinger was an important local photographer in Charlottesville in the late 19th and early 20th century. Photo is blind stamped lower right: "University Studio, Hoslinger, Charlottesville Va." Verso identifies the people in the photograph: " Oma Borchers (Emelia?), Opa Borchers (Louis), Nana (Marie Alvina Borchers Mittendorf) Aunt Helene Borchers Reid, Uncle Louis Borchers." Approx. 13" x 8".
