An African Nigerian Yoruba Oyo Shango or Sango (God of Thunder) scepter staff (19th Century) carved from a dense, heavy wood double sided shaft having repeating geometric pattern with carved head at top depicting a a double axe motif which symbolizes the Sango's thunderbolts, surrounding a female devotee's head.

Condition

Excellent condition having collection number on base and small section removed from base.
