A fine example of the 1852 pattern United States Navy officers sword By Jacob Reed's Sons Philadelphia. The blade is beautifully etched with Naval symbols and the name M Aigner 3rd. The shagreen handle retains much of its gilding and the original gold thread tassel.
Length of sword 90 cm (35.5 in.)

Blade in excellent condition some pigment loss on the leather scabbard.
