Two U.S. Naval Officer's swords
pre-World War II
The first German import M1852 Naval Officer sword with original scabbard and bullion sword knot, acid etched blade with name "Charles A. Blick," ricasso stamped "proved," throat of scabbard marked "Germany;" the second an M C Lilley M1852, acid etched blade, unidentified; both swords with original ray skin and wire grips. (2).

Estate of Jud Samon, retired coordinator of International Faculty and Student Services at the University of Maryland at College Park.
M1852 sword with minor aging to blade. Lilley sword scabbard with some dents, seam separation and missing leather wraps. Blade length (largest): 31 1/4 in. (79.38 cm.)
Charles A. Blick (to whom the first sword is inscribed) later became a Rear Admiral.
