Important early work by Fontenelle, first published in French in 1683. *Note: per ESTC R28503 , "All known copies include a quire 2A² bound after dedication, containing the title page and table of contents of the 1684 issue, intended to be cancelled." These leaves are present in this copy, though the title has a chip removing some letters.

Binding rather tired with chips and tears, but binding is intact. Contents with some occasional light foxing, else clean overall.
