1893 RARE Lot EGYPT Mummy Illustrated Book of the Dead Hieroglyphs EGYPTIAN
Sir Wallis Budge, (1857 - 1934), was curator of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities at the British Museum, London. He collected cuneiform tablets, Egyptian papyri, and Greek, Coptic, Arabic, Syriac, and Ethiopic manuscripts. He made trips to Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Sudan to conduct archaeological excavations, and published works, including translations of ancient texts such as the Egyptian Book of the Dead!
An interesting collection of books relating to Egypt Mythology and History. These six volumes feature impressive illustrations of pots, tools, religious ceremonies, idols, hieroglyphs, and even fold out murals of pharos and funerals! The texts include a variety of interesting topics including the history of Egypt and its different rulers, funeral rites and processes such as mummification, and even religious ceremonies and books such as the Book of the Dead!
