1965 CHOKWE MWANA PWO MASK ANGOLA AFRICAN TRIBAL ART
A Chokwe Mwana pwo female mask with richly carved features and shining red-brown patina.
The mask has small ears and its large eyes are slotted, and a thin nose runs down to a small open mouth displaying teeth.
Facial scarring is carved in relief on the forehead, and along the cheeks and to the outsides of the eyes.
There is a chip above the left eye and losses to the top of the mask above the forehead as seen in photos.
A string has been added for hanging.
