Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. 1930s CE. A glossy blackware bowl with an abstract motif of incised upturned crescents with three lines inside them around the shoulder - representing bear paws. This motif symbolizes strength, health, and healing. This is a beautiful example of a long ceramic tradition. Size: 4.5" W x 3.95" H (11.4 cm x 10 cm)
