Description
VICTORIAN STAMPED AND CAST-METAL KEROSENE BANQUET LAMP, opaque white ball shade with a yellow ground and polychrome-enamel stenciled decoration, cylindrical font vase with a medial acanthus leaf medallion band, large globular base with two applied handles, four lion feet, period brass drop-in font stamped "THE B&H". Fitted with a period burner, colorless slip chimney. Maker unverified. Late 19th/early 20th century. 27 1/2" H to top of shade, 18" H to shade ring, 5 1/2" SQ base. Shade: 9 1/2" H, 4" D fitter.
Excellent condition overall with the font tank having many vertical splits; base having a small drill hole to two feet; shade having some expected flaking/roughness to the fitter.
