Description
A marvelous Etruscan terracotta head of a man, c. 3rd Century BC, veiled, wearing a narrow diadem decorated with rosettes; four small pinecones adorning his forehead. His features are wonderfully modelled in high relief, his hair short and well defined. H: 10 in(27.8 cm). Nice, even surface deposits. An outstanding example! Ex Sothebys, acquired 1980's-1990's; Ex Harold Whitbeck estate, San Francisco CA.
