Description
The Little Forest by Bernard Corey (1914-2000) is an original oil painting depicting a vibrant daylight forest landscape. Signed by Corey on lower right this oil on board is in excellent condition. Active in Massachusetts, Bernard Corey is considered one of the best New England plein air painters in the 20th century and is well known for delicate and vibrant landscapes (This original being a prime example of such). In the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, Corey received numerous awards for his art contributions including the Gold Medal of Honor in 1973, the Lazare Barth Award, North Shore AA in 1964, and the Academic Artist Association First Place for Watercolor in 1964, to name a few. Painting comes in a nice metal leaf frame. Measurements: Painting is approximately 11.25 inches by 8.25 inches within frame and frame is 16 inches width by 13 inches height. 1% of hammer price for all items sold at Masters of Art Volume II Art Series Auction will be donated to the Humane Society.
Condition
Good. No signs of repairs under UV light or by physical eye. In nice gold metal leaf frame.
