Chinese Yuan Dynasty blue and white peony flower porcelain Meiping vase. Fine porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, thick potted, with a narrow base, wide body, slender neck easing to form a petite opening, with emerging slight ring line mouth rim, raised on round flat foot base. All reserved in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. The main body adorned with abundant peony flowers blooms interspersed with interlocking fresh foliage, banded with geometric, auspicious pattern, and enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The shoulder decorated with flowers blooms among huge trashing wavy Lishui water, banded with scrolling tendril and enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. And the foot base rim decorated with geometric rectangle and auspicious pattern, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
