Description
Europe, probably Corsica, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. A rare example of a corseque, a type of ranseur or roncone, a pole weapon similar to a partisan. The trident-like tip is cast from iron, in the form of a long spear tip affixed with a V-shaped cross hilt - composed of side blades called flukes or wings - at its base. This is attached to a long pole. This weapon was primarily used for capturing others' weapons or pulling soldiers from their horses. Size: 11.5" W x 85.5" H (29.2 cm x 217.2 cm)
