Signed U.S. Army affidavit. 31.8x20.2 cm (12½x8"); in Optium Museum Acrylic glass frame: 34.7x23.4 cm (13¾x9¼"). paneled with acrylic glass at reverse of frame revealing writing and signatures on reverse of leaf.



Signed by Sholl, Gibson, and Badger. Affidavit of Sergeant Henry Sholl, Sergeant of Co. A, 6th Infantry, who was in charge of the storehouse at the corral. He describes a burglary at Fort Rice wherein a party or parties entered through a window and stole 26 wagon covers and two S.S. ambulance lead harnesses. The testimony was sworn before F.M. Gibson, 1st Lieutenant of Cavalry and William Badger, 1st Lieutenant 6th Infantry. Gibson was an officer in the 7th Cavalry who rode to the rescue but arrived too late at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
