Military issues of standard religious books were normally 'militarized' copies of civilian issue, just with a different cover but with essentially the same content and layout inside as a civilian copy available in the market. The estimated dating is based on the font style used. Thick blue-green cover with stapled binding, 114 pages; 8.4 x 11.7cm; intact & complete. The military Rabbinate was established at the end of 1948, superseeding the 'Religious Service' unit of the newly established Israeli Army; Rabbi Shlomo Goren was its first head.
