North America, United States, southwest Virginia, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A mold-blown glass bottle of a pale-blue hue labeled "Buffalo Lithia Water - Nature's Materia Medica." The bottle has a flat base, a wide body with a rounded shoulder, and a squat neck with a thick rim. The inside of the vessel is filled with meticulously-arranged wooden folk art pieces depicting crucifixes, Jesus Christ, a bearded man, two kneeling women, a trio of dice, a large chest, a ladder, a spear, an axe, and a flag, all decorated in pink, red, blue, white, gold, and yellow hues and embellished with various colors of glitter. The top of the bottle is sealed with a pierced wooden dowel threaded with a slender, perpendicular piece of painted wood. Size (bottle): 4.375" W x 10.375" H (11.1 cm x 26.4 cm).

Some folk art pieces are loose or dislodged from original placement location. Very light clouding to glass bottle, with some fragmentary interior folk art components, and light fading to pigmentation, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
