**First Time At Auction**
Latin America, Mexico, ca. 18th century CE. A duo of hand-built ceramic floor tiles. Each square tile has a painted floral motif, with each blossom displaying golden petals, emerald-hued leaves, and crimson stalks. One tile has a russet-hued exterior border and the other a gold border, with each corner adorned in green circular forms. The detailed side of each tile has been sealed with a clear glaze, thereby preserving the gentle imagery. Size of largest (gold border): 7.125" H (18.1 cm).
Provenance: private Boulder, Colorado, USA collection; ex-James Caswell collection, Historia Antiques, Santa Monica, California, USA
