Item Details

Description

Made for the 1876 Centennial International Exposition in Philadelphia, depicting the Main Building, the Art Gallery, and the Horticultural Building, topped by the US shield, flags, and a bald eagle, with profiles of Washington and Grant at the top corners, Seals related to Independence at the bottom corners, on a red field with Greek key and foliate border.

Dimensions: Sight 22" x 26 3/4", the frame 25 1/4" x 29 3/4".

Provenance: From a Main Line collection.

Condition

Some discoloration and minor stains, a few pulled threads, a threadbare area at the center right. Overall appears to be in very good condition. Not examined out of the frame.
