Description
Standard glaze vase decorated with a portrait of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, painted by Grace Young in 1903 based on a painting by George Romney done in 1789. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 901 BB, incised "John Wesley after Romney" and impressed with the artist's cypher. There is also a wheel ground X due to the glaze being very light in one area at the rim. There is fine overall crazing and a couple of light scratches. Height is 10 inches.
