Description
Rookwood Standard glaze oil lamp with red poppy decoration painted in 1897 by Ed Diers and subsequently converted with excellent Victorian brass fittings and a P & A Victor 50 burner and font. Marks in the vase include the company logo, which indicates the date, shape number 517 D and the incised monogram of Mr. Diers. Height of the ceramic portion is 5 5/8 inches. Excellent decoration with faint crazing and a drill hole through the bottom. The consignor has crafted a neat wooden hanging support for the lamp, font and chimney, an added bonus to the new owner.
