Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty lotus Shou porcelain bowls. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, of a shallow vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a flaring opening lip, raised on round slightly raised footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in famille jaune underglaze base color which contrast against the famille rose design color and gilt fine color. Famille rose hand painting depicted vividly hand painted in enamel design, famille rose translates to the pink family, on a colored ground decoration. Each bulging sides enclosing colorful falangcai, famille rose on a colored ground decoration, of Bajixiang. The exterior adorned with archaic lotus flowers blooms, interspersed with scrolling ruyi and tendril, with Shou Chinese calligraphy in vivid tone color. Repeating Tao tie mask decorated on the upper mouth rim enclosed with double fine gilt rings lines and geometric pattern on the lower belly enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. It also represents long life and honor.
