Dimensions: 18-1/4" H x 13-3/4" W Stand: 5-7/8" H
Fabulous, Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Jiaqing abundant peach porcelain moon vase. Finest porcelain with tall ovoid body, with bulbous lower region sweeping up into a slender neckline and onion-shaped head, supported on short foot ring with double blue lines ring. Two archaic dragon pattern ribbon handles flanked from upper neck to the shoulder rim. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The center moon medallion body adorned with abundant ripe peach tree among flying Fu-bat and fresh foliage above trashing Lishui wavy water, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The outer center medallion toward neck and foot base rim decorated with flowers blooms interspersed with scrolling interlocking tendril and foliage. The word bat Fu, in Chinese sounds identical to the word for luck which is a pair of homophones implied linguistic symbolism the symbolic meaning of bat is commonly recognized as good fortune in Chinese culture and meaning the five blessings, is a concept that signify a grouping of certain good fortunes and luck in Chinese culture. One of the most popular Feng Shui fruit symbols, peach is the symbol of immortality.
