The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded in 1957 with Martin Luther King, Jr. as its first President.
According to his Authors Guild biography, Dr. E James Lieberman (26-years-old when he wrote this check and involved in peace activism), is currently affiliated with the Jewish Peace Fellowship, Center on Conscience & War, and Compassion and Choices. Dr. Lieberman is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Emeritus at The George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
