This lot consists of a hand painted oil on unstretched gessoed canvas, done in the style of modern artist Yves Klein (French, 1928-1962). "Yves Klein" is hand written at bottom left of composition. A layer of dark blue resembling International Klein Blue covers an abstract mosaic of various sponge pieces and smaller granular material. The viewer is immediately drawn in to this warm, flowing composition. This piece would be a highlight of any modern art collectors gallery. All elements are complete and firmly attached. Unframed piece measures approximately 26" x 17".

Yves Klein (French, 28 April 1928 – 6 June 1962) was a French artist and an important figure in post-war European art. He was a leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau realisme founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany. Klein was a pioneer in the development of performance art, and is seen as an inspiration to and as a forerunner of minimal art, as well as pop art.
