Portrait of General Robert E. Lee. Even though General Lee died on October 12, 1870, Lexington, Virginia, VA, this titled "R. E. Lee Live" and dated 1876. Oscar Marshall was the publisher for William Edgar Marshall. This portrait shows Lee in wartime uniform of the period of the Civil War. "Entered According To Act of Congress, in the year 1876, by Oscar Marshall, in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington". Extremely rare. We can find no other examples of this print.
