Fine Indian Miniature Painting. "Games by the Jamuna River: Krishna plays Polo and the Gopis Swim," a scene from the Bhagavata Purana, Rajasthan, Malpura, circa 1775. Provenance: Private Pittsburgh Collection. Ex. Estate of Alfred Siesel who Acquired the artwork from Doris Wiener Gallery in 1974. Reproduced on the cover of 10th annual exhibition catalog of Doris Wiener Gallery in 1974 (a copy of the catalog is included with the lot). Book: 8.25'' x 11'' (21 x 28 cm). Painting: 9.5'' x 15.25'' (24 x 39 cm (sight); 15.25'' x 20.25'', 39 x 51 cm (frame).
