Large Chinese 18 Century Ink & Color Painting on Silk of a Taoist Paradise with Male & Female Immortals, Ma Gu bringing Peaches & flowers in a Raft on Water, a Long Life Crane in the Sky with a Figure in a chariot pulled by a Cloud Dragon, Liuhai and Toad, the HeHe Boys and several smaller boys; mounted on a wood stretcher and closed at the back with silk dust cover, framed to the edge of stretcher with a bamboo frame. The surface with small restorations, stains, rips and tears. Height of art 65 inches (165 cm.) X width of art 35 3/4 inches (90.8 cm.). Provenance: Hand written ink label on back reads Mrs. Walt. Russell, believed to be the second wife (Daisy Cook Stebbing) of Walter Bowman Russell (1871 – 1963), Boston artist and New York Author and lecturer on his concept of the Universe, The Russell Cosmogony. After her marriage to Walter Russell, she changed her name to "Lao" Russell after Lao-Tzu, the Chinese Philosopher.
