Book Details: This group consists of six decorative antique volumes featuring American history, as shown in the corresponding images. Titles found in this collection are:

Headwaters of the Mississippi; Comprising Biographical Sketches of Early and Recent Explorers of the Great River, and a Full Account of the Discovery and Locations of Its True Source in a Lake Beyond Itasca, by Captain Willard Glazier, 1894, illustrated.

Yosemite Trails: Camp and Pack-Train in the Yosemite Region of the Sierra Nevada by J. Smeaton Chase, 1911, first printing, illustrated.

Second Series of a Diary in America, with Remarks on Its Institutions, by Capt. Marryat, C.B., 1840, first printing of second series, with tables.

An Outline History of the United States, for Public and Other Schools; From the Earliest Period to the Present Time, by Benson J. Lossing, 1875, illustrated with maps (one in color) and engravings.

Illustrated History of the United States Mint, George G. Evans, Publisher, 1894, with photo-illustrations, engravings, and plates.

King’s Handbook of the United States, planned and edited by Moses King, text by M. F. Sweetser, 1891, decorative illustrated endpapers, over 2600 illustrations, and fifty-one colored maps.
Condition / Notes: These antique titles show well with some typical indications of age and wear including shelfwear and rubbing. “Second Series of a Diary in America†displays moderate/severe age toning/foxing and some evidence of moisture on the boards and text block. The spine has been repaired with tape. The bindings and text blocks are firm. Text and illustrations are clear and crisp through mostly mild age toning/foxing. There is writing by a previous owner to the endpapers.
