Description
Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. An attractive, mold-formed terracotta bust of a goddess - perhaps Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty - with an elegant presentation. Her serene visage exhibits almond-shaped eyes with delineated lids and brows, full cheeks and lips, a slender nose with grooved nostrils, a supple neck line, and a smooth forehead - all framed by her centrally-parted wavy coiffure beneath a headdress or helmet. Size: 3.125" H (7.9 cm)
